Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest, Seizure of Loaded Gun and Two Pounds of Marijuana

According to District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos, MCPD officers arrested a suspect in Silver Spring after discovering a loaded gun, drugs, and fake license plates during a proactive traffic stop following a suspected drug deal.

Observant and proactive @mcpnews 3rd District officers observed a vehicle driving around downtown Silver Spring with license plates that didn’t belong on the car. That vehicle met up with another vehicle where a suspected drug deal took place.

Traffic stops were conducted and THC vapes, approximately two pounds of marijuana, and a loaded handgun were found. The handgun was illegally possessed by a prohibited person.
