Three Maryland Cities in Top 6% of “Best Small Cities in America”, Per Study

With small cities often offering significantly lower costs of living than large cities, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2024’s Best Small Cities in America, with three Maryland cities coming in ranked in the top 6%.


WalletHub compared more than 1,300 U.S. cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 across 45 key indicators of livability. They range from housing costs and school-system quality to the number of restaurants per capita and the crime rate. Our very own Rockville was ranked the highest in Maryland, coming in ranked in the top 5%, followed by Annapolis (also top 5%) and Frederick (top 6%).
