Silver Spring

Permit Issued For Work to Begin at Second Royal Farms Location

Royal Farms made its Montgomery County debut when it opened its first MoCo location in Gaithersburg in 2022. Now, the convenience store popular for its fried chicken, has received its permit to begin work at its upcoming location in Silver Spring.

Last year, we reported that Royal Farms is planned for the Sunoco gas station site at 9475 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, according to applications filed with the county’s Department of Permitting Services. Recently, a permit valued at more than $200K has been issued so that alterations can begin at the upcoming location.

This will be the first of the “big three” convenience stores (Royal Farms, Sheetz, and Wawa) to open outside of Gaithersburg in Montgomery County. An upcoming Royal Farms at 6730 English Muffin Way in Frederick, MD is listed in the “coming soon” section of the Royal Farms website, but the Silver Spring location is not yet there so an opening timeframe is not yet available.
