Suspect Arrested in Connection to Murder of 88-Year-Old-Man

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 48-year-old, Fabian Newsome with the Monday, October 21, 2024, murder of 88-year-old David Newsome, in the 12000 block of Sandalwood Lane between Colesville and White Oak.

According to police, “At approximately 6:56 p.m., officers responded to the location and found David Newsome dead, with apparent trauma to his body.

The elder Newsome has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified the decedent’s son, Fabian Newsome who also resides at the location, as the suspect.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Fabian Newsome was arrested by the US Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he has been charged with first-degree murder.
