Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a brush fire in the area of the Stedwick Community Center and Stedwick Elementary School in Montgomery Village at approximately 4pm on Sunday afternoon.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the brush fire doesn’t involved any roads or structures, but is affecting some Pepco power equipment, as the fire involves the power lines. Pepco is on the scene and the brush fire has been contained and knocked down.
Per a 5:13pm update, crews are on the scene working on a few hot spots and some utility equipment and guide wires were damaged by the fire. Photo courtesy MCFRS.
