29-Year-Old Gaithersburg Woman Charged with Mother’s Murder

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced that Tiffany Zhang, 29, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after allegedly confessing to killing her mother, Guichun Hu, whose body was found near their residence in 19400 block of Olive Tree Way in Gaithersburg on Monday.

Per MCPD: “On Monday, November 4, at approximately 9:53 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call from Zhang, who reported that she had killed her mother, 63-year-old Guichun Hu, the previous day and that Hu’s body was outside their residence in a nearby grass field.

Upon arrival, 6th District officers located Zhang waiting outside, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Division – Homicide Section were notified and responded to the location.

The victim’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy is scheduled for November 5 to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Zhang was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Central Processing Unit, where she was charged with first-degree murder.”
