High School Football Regular Season Final Top 10

Season Final Top 10 will be published at the conclusion of the playoffs.

1) Paint Branch (8-1)* | Last Week: 1

Note: Forfeit applied.

The Panthers maintained their top spot with a solid 23-10 victory over Bethesda-Chevy Chase. Even without star running back  Alijah Bah, Paint Branch controlled the game, thanks in large part to Makai Miles. Miles showcased his versatility by rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown pass. This season marks a historic moment for the Panthers as they finish their first-ever undefeated regular season on the field in their 50-year history. With a bye in the first playoff round, they eagerly await the winner of Walter Johnson vs. Laurel.

2) Quince Orchard (9-0) | Last Week: 2

Quince Orchard extended their jaw-dropping streak to 54 consecutive regular season victories with a commanding 47-22 win over Sherwood. Defensive standout and Michigan State commit Aydan West continues to shine, adding two more interceptions—one returned for a touchdown—to his already impressive tally. With their sights set on another state championship, the Cougars will rest this week before taking on either Churchill or Clarksburg in the second round.

3) Northwest (7-2) | Last Week: 4

Northwest rebounded from a previous setback with a resounding 42-0 triumph over Einstein. Jayden Vongprachanh-Nelson led the offensive charge with 205 total yards and three touchdowns. The Jags look poised for a deep playoff run and will start their campaign against RM, a team they thoroughly dominated earlier this season.

4) Sherwood (7-2) | Last Week: 3

Sherwood had a tough outing against Quince Orchard despite a promising start. Quarterback Matthew Larsen showed flashes of brilliance with three touchdowns but also struggled with turnovers. Running back Ryan Johnson provided a bright spot with over 100 yards on the ground. The Warriors will need to tighten up as they begin their playoff journey against Manchester Valley of Carroll County.

5) Blake (7-2) | Last Week: 5

Blake’s victory over Blair was a testament to their grit and defensive prowess. Linebacker DJ Queen played hero with a critical interception and the game-winning touchdown run. The Bengals enter the playoffs on a high note and face Kennedy in their opener.

6) Blair (6-3) | Last Week: 6

Blair’s season ended on a sour note with back-to-back losses, including a close defeat to Blake. Despite this, the Blazers have had a remarkable turnaround from last year’s 2-win season. Securing the second seed in the 4A North, they look to bounce back against Northwestern from PG County in the first round.

7) Seneca Valley (6-3) | Last Week: 8

Seneca Valley ended their regular season with a dominant defensive performance, shutting out Magruder 12-0. Their defense forced three turnovers, setting the tone for their playoff matchup against Gaithersburg.

8) Bethesda-Chevy Chase (6-3) | Last Week: 7

Despite falling to top-ranked Paint Branch, BCC showed resilience, with linebacker John Dale standing out with eight tackles and a handful of rushing yards. The Barons will look to bounce back as they face Wheaton in the playoffs.

9) Damascus (6-3) | Last Week: 9

The Swarmin’ Hornets concluded their regular season with a statement win over Wootton, racking up 461 total yards of offense. Damascus will enjoy a first-round bye as they prepare for the next phase of their playoff campaign.

10) Churchill (5-4) | New Entry

Churchill cracks the top ten following a crucial 21-13 win over Walter Johnson. The Bulldogs amassed nearly 300 yards of offense and are set to face Clarksburg in a promising first-round playoff showdown.

As the playoffs kick off, each team’s path to glory is set. Whether it’s Paint Branch seeking a historic season or Quince Orchard aiming to extend their dominance, the stage is set for an exciting conclusion to the high school football season.
