Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire on the 12100 block of Livingston Street in Wheaton on Thursday, November 21, where an 83-year-old woman sustained critical burn injuries and later died.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was determined to be accidental in nature, likely caused by a wood-burning stove in the living room, resulting in $300,000 in damages, including $25,000 to the structure and $50,000 to contents. No working smoke alarms were found in the home.
