Overturned Vehicle Closes Portion of US-29

Alert Montgomery has sent a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ for a traffic incident that blocks Northbound US-29 and Old Columbia Pike Slip Ramp just past Stewart Lane in White Oak. Per the alert, “Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”

Per MCPD: “TRAFFIC ADVISORY: An overturned vehicle has US-29 closed from New Hampshire Avenue to just north of Stewart Lane. The road is closed to allow for fire rescue clean-up. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”

2:36pm Update: : All NB lanes are open. All SB lanes are blocked at Tech Road for vehicle recovery near Stewart Lane. Follow authority direction.

6:07pm Update: : Southbound US-29 is still closed, causing significant delays on Old Columbia Pike ramp. Drivers are advised to avoid the area. For an alternate route, take a right onto East Randolph Road and proceed north on New Hampshire Avenue.

7:56 update: All lanes open on Southbound Columbia Pike (US-29) and Old Columbia Pike Slip Ramp. Expect residual delays.
