The Washington Commanders beat the Philadelphia Eagles 36-33 on Sunday, to move to 10-5 after three straight victories. Next week, The 8-7 Atlanta Falcons comes to town for a Sunday night game, but let’s take a look at some fun facts from today’s game:
• QB Jayden Daniels threw for five touchdowns today. It’s the most touchdown passes by a Washington quarterback since Mark Rypien in the 1991 Super Bowl season. Daniels is the first rookie quarterback to throw for five or more touchdowns and rush for 65 or more yards in a single game in NFL history.
• Washington has won 10 games for the first time since 2012.
• WR Terry McLaurin now has 900 career receiving yards against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are the first opponent that McLaurin has eclipsed the 900 career receiving yards mark against. McLaurin has scored his 37th career receiving touchdown and now moves into sole possession of No. 8 all-time in franchise history in receiving touchdowns.
• LB Frankie Luvu has recorded his first interception of the season and his first since 2022.
• General Manager Adam Peters joins Charley Casserly as the only GMs in franchise history to win 10-plus games in their first season as GM with the organization.
• Washington tied the franchise single season record for 4th down conversions with 16.
• WR Terry McLaurin has tied the single season franchise record for touchdown receptions. He is the first player since Ricky Sanders in 1988 to record 12-plus touchdown receptions in a single season.
• WR Olamide Zaccheaus caught two touchdowns against his former team. It was the first time Zaccheaus had two touchdown receptions in a game since Week 9 of the 2021 season.
• This year’s team joins the 2012 team, 1999 team, 1991 team, 1984 team and 1983 team as the only team’s in franchise history to score 400-plus points in a single season.
• WR Jamison Crowder caught two touchdown passes today, the first two for him this season. Today was his first touchdown reception since Week 8 of the 2023 season, which was also against the Philadelphia Eagles.
• WR Terry McLaurin has posted 1,000-yard seasons in five consecutive seasons, joining Justin Jefferson as the only other player to accomplish the feat in the last five seasons consecutively (2020-2024). Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans and Davante Adams are the only players who can accomplish the feat this season. McLaurin has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the fifth consecutive season, extending his franchise-long streak of consecutive 1,000 yard seasons.
