On Sunday night, the Washington Commanders have won their first playoff game since 2005– beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 with a last second field goal that bounced in off the right upright. Tampa International Airport shared their feelings Monday morning and Dulles Airport replied, in a fun back-and-forth exchange on social media.
On Monday morning just before 9am, Tampa International Airport tweeted, “Good morning to everyone except the Washington Commanders.” In response, Dulles Airport quoted the post and added three kiss emojis. Tampa replied playfully, “SETTLE DOWN, DULLES 🗣️.” The banter continued when Dulles asked Tampa if flights to Cancun were suddenly filling up, referencing the popular vacation destination for coaches and players after the NFL season ends. As you can imagine, fans from both teams chimed in with plenty to say.
The Washington Commanders will travel to Detroit to take on the 15-2 Lions on Saturday night. The Lions open as 8.5 point favorites as both teams look to move on to the NFC Championship game.
