On Friday, January 17, a double homicide in Rockville claimed the lives of Marcell Jordan Hebron, 26, known in the music industry as Lil Xelly, and 27-year-old Leilani Marroquin. In the wake of this incident, the community has come together to support the grieving families, launching a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reported that the first victim, Marcell Hebron, was discovered inside a white BMW at approximately 3:16 a.m. on the morning of the incident, with visible signs of gunfire on the vehicle. Just hours later, at around 7:40 a.m., officers from the Rockville City Police Department found Leilani Marroquin in a nearby parking lot, also suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were beloved members of the community, and their untimely deaths have left friends, family, and fans reeling.
Authorities quickly identified 25-year-old Kaloyan Dimov Stoev as the suspect in the homicides. Following an extensive investigation, police arrested Stoev around noon on the same day, finding two firearms in his possession. He now faces serious charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and handgun-related offenses, and is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
In the aftermath of this tragedy, community members have rallied to support the families of the victims. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to help cover funeral costs and other related expenses. The outpouring of support has already raised more than $11,000 for the families.
