The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Friday evening in Poolesville.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 6:03 p.m., 1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to Whites Ferry Road near the intersection of Partnership Road for the report of a collision involving a white Ford and a green Acura.
The adult male driver of the white Ford remained on scene with no reported injuries. The 51-year-old male driver of the green Acura was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. CRU detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620. More information will be released when it is available, including the name of the deceased following proper notification of next of kin.”
Alert Montgomery has issued a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ for a traffic incident that closes both directions of Whites Ferry Rd.(MD 107) between Sugarland and Partnership Rd. Per the alert, “Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.” Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer shared at 6:19pm that all lanes of Whites Ferry Road and Partnership Rd., at the ‘S’ curve were blocked and that one person was pinned.
