On Thursday evening in Montgomery County’s Circuit Court, Judge Jill Cummins sentenced defendant, Cynthia Moore, 42, of Montgomery Village, to 30 years in prison suspending all but 21 years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release after Moore was previously convicted on six counts of child neglect.
Per the Office of the Montgomery County State’s Attorney, “Cynthia Moore’s husband, the father of the children, Dominique Moore, is scheduled for sentencing on March 27, 2025. Dominique Moore pleaded guilty to six counts of child neglect for his six minor children on November 4, 2024.
Cynthia and her husband Dominique Moore were charged with second-degree murder and six counts of child neglect in 2023 following the death of their 17-year-old daughter, who passed away in their home on May 10, 2022.
Authorities found the family living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, with six minor children removed from the home by Child Protective Services. An autopsy later determined the daughter’s death to be a homicide, leading to the couple’s arrest.”
