Jay Gruden, who previously served as the head coach of the Washington Commanders (then known as the Washington Redskins) from 2014 to 2019, shared his top five players to watch this upcoming season (video below).
5. Luke McCaffrey, WR: “He’s got the feet, he’s got the quickness, he’s got the elusiveness, he’s got the hands…he just has to get a little bigger, a little more confident.”
4. Johnny Newton, DT: He showed flashes last year of being a special guys. He’s got quickness, he’s got strength, he has to produce more quarterback pressures and sacks.
3. Ben Sinnott, TE: “He’s a pretty good blocker, he’s a pretty good receiver…he’s gotta become more productive.”
2. Marshon Lattimore, CB: “Played through some injuries. 100% healthy Marshon Lattimore should provide a huge spark for the Washington Commanders defense.”
1. Jayden Daniels, QB: “I don’t expect a second year slump. Jayden Daniels will get better, and that is very scary for the rest of the National Football League.”
