MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, located at 18101 Prince Phillip Dr. in Olney, has been granted a permit to proceed with $1.034 million in alterations to its emergency room. This multi-phase construction project aims to enhance patient care and safety within the facility.
The first phase of the project, known as Phase 1a, will focus on the development of five flexible Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) rooms. This phase will also include the construction of a BHU-friendly nurse’s station and a fully secured area, complete with a sally port, to create a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Following Phase 1a, the project will move into Phase 1b, which will involve a comprehensive cosmetic upgrade of patient rooms, corridors, utility rooms, and restrooms. These improvements are designed to create a more modern and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and patients.
