Three Juveniles Arrested for Arson, Robbery of 73-Year-Old Woman, and Property Damage

The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) arrested three juveniles from Washington, D.C., in connection with vandalism, robbery, and assault incidents on March 22, 2025. The suspects, two males aged 12 and 14 and a 14-year-old female, face charges including robbery, assault, and destruction of property, with their cases referred to the Department of Juvenile Services.

According to RCPD, “On Saturday, March 22, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Rockville City Police responded to a report of vandalism at a business in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike. Two male juveniles from Washington, D.C., had entered the store, lit merchandise on fire, and fled the scene.
Minutes later, officers were alerted to an assault and robbery in the 800 block of Festival Street. A 73-year-old woman was approached from behind by two male juveniles and had her purse stolen. During the struggle, she sustained injuries and was treated at the scene by Montgomery County Fire & Rescue.
Later that evening, the same juveniles returned to the Rockville Pike business, now accompanied by a female juvenile from Washington D.C. The trio caused additional damage to property and merchandise, valued at over $2,000.
Rockville City Police, with assistance from Montgomery County Police 1st District officers, saturated the area and apprehended all three juveniles. Following a review of video surveillance, the two male juveniles were identified as the suspects in the earlier robbery. Charges have been forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Services as follows:
14-year-old male: Robbery, assault, malicious burning, and destruction of property.
12-year-old male: Robbery.
14-year-old female: Destruction of property.
