One Person Extricated From Vehicle, Two Hospitalized Following Monday Afternoon Crash

On Monday afternoon, shortly before 2:00 pm, a two-vehicle collision occurred near Rolling Drive at 19200 Muncaster Rd in the Muncaster Manor area of Derwood, Montgomery County.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer, the accident involved a collision that resulted in a person becoming trapped or pinned inside one of the vehicles.

Multiple MCFRS units responded to the scene, including units PE717, A717, RE717, PRS703, and EMS703, among others. Emergency responders worked to extricate the trapped occupant and clear the scene while several lanes were blocked due to the incident.

In an update from MCFRS, it was reported that one individual was trapped or pinned in the vehicle. Following the crash, emergency personnel successfully extricated one person and transported two adults– both drivers and trauma patients– using the MCFRS_EMIHS unit. Some lanes remain blocked as authorities manage the aftermath of the collision.
