Takoma Park Police are investigating a contact shooting that occurred on Wednesday in the 6500 block of New Hampshire Avenue. Police shared that the incident is classified as a contact shooting, meaning the firearm discharged at close range and struck the victim.
According to police, the victim sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect fled the scene on a moped, which is believed to have likely belonged to the victim.
