Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire that has led to the evacuation of an apartment building in Montgomery Village on Tuesday night.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, a fire is being addressed at a three-story apartment building located at 18800 Walker’s Choice Rd off Lake Landing Rd. in Montgomery Village. Smoke was observed coming from the building.
The following units are reported to be at the scene: PE708, E753B, PE728, E734, PE729, PAT708, T734, RS729, A708, BC705, and BC703, with additional assistance from T731, SA700, AT703, M708, and others. Per a 9:12pm update, building occupants are in the process of evacuating, and a fire has been confirmed in a bedroom.
At 9:55 pm, an update confirmed that there was a small fire in the back bedroom of a first-floor apartment on Walker’s Choice Rd. No injuries were reported, and most residents had returned after evacuation. Officials noted that likely one family has been displaced.
