According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “A Montgomery County Grand Jury has indicted 23-year-old Byron Bautista Turcios, 23, of Beltsville, MD, on charges stemming from a fatal collision that killed 19-year-old Amelia Nicole Hobart of Poolesville. The collision occurred on November 29, 2024, on southbound I-270 north of Rockledge Drive.
Bautista Turcios is facing charges including manslaughter by motor vehicle, homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and driving a motor vehicle without a license. He was indicted on Thursday, April 24, 2025. A scheduling hearing is set for May 16, 2025. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. Bautista Turcios is presumed innocent until proven guilty, pending the outcome of a trial.”
