The Prince George’s County Police Department’s (PGCPD) Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with the murder of his girlfriend. The suspect is 32-year-old Rogerio Palma of College Park. He is charged with fatally shooting 24-year-old Brianna Burton of Centreville, Virginia. Palma allegedly dropped his girlfriend off at the emergency room of White Oak Medical Center and left the hospital
According to PGCPD, “On April 27, 2025, at approximately 7:20 am, Montgomery County Police officers responded to a Silver Spring hospital for the report of a gunshot victim who had been dropped off at the emergency room. The man who dropped her off then left the hospital. The shooting victim, Burton, was pronounced dead a short time later. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined the victim had been shot in Prince George’s County. The PGPD Homicide Unit assumed the investigation on April 28, 2025.
On April 29, 2025, members of the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit arrested Palma. He is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.”
When searching for a suspect last week, Montgomery County Police shared that the suspect drove the victim to the emergency room, briefly spoke with staff, and then left the scene. The victim, identified as Burton, had an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
