Four Maryland Burgers Named Among “Best Burgers Around DC”

Eater DC has released a list of its “Best Burgers Around DC” created by the publication’s editors and it includes four burgers that can be found in Maryland. The Maryland locations of the restaurants can be seen below:

SOKO Butcher (7306 Carroll Ave. Takoma Park): Home of our very own Mr. MoCo’s favorite cheesesteak, Montgomery County’s SOKO Butcher has also made Eater’s “Best Burger Around DC” list. Soko Butcher offers locally sourced meats, sandwiches, house-made charcuterie, and bone broths. The business emphasizes ethical and sustainable farming practices in its sourcing. Joy By Seven Reasons (5471 Wisconsin Ave. Chevy Chase): The restaurant opened in late 2022, serving Latin cuisine, and has been a hit in the area. While we love the Colossal Short Rib Sandwich that come with black gloves to handle the sandwich, the burger makes Eater’s list’s one of the best in the area. Eater writes, “The order comes topped with white cheddar cheese, pickles, dijon mustard, and pineapple-prunes mayo.” Visit the restaurant website here.

Duke’s Grocery (10128 River Rd. Potomac): Duke’s Grocery, a London-inspired gastropub, officially opened its first location outside of DC in Montgomery County’s Potomac Village. With the opening, Duke’s introduced Maryland to its signature “Proper Burger,” consistently ranked among the best burgers in DC and a multiple-time winner of “Best Burger in DC” competitions. The Salt Line (7284 Woodmont Ave. Bethesda): The Salt Line made its move into Maryland when it opened its Bethesda Row location in 2023, taking over the location that was previously home to Greek restaurant Kapnos. Eater writes, “The Salt Line’s version involves two ground chuck patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and a sesame bun.” Visit the restaurant website here.
