Bao Bei to Close Ghost Kitchen, New Rockville Location Opening Soon

Bao Bei has announced it will close its ghost kitchen at 11910 Parklawn Drive on August 1, after three years of service. To mark the occasion, the restaurant is offering 30% off your entire order on the Toast app with the code FINALDAYS. A new 1,903-square-foot location is set to open soon at 12055 Rockville Pike in Montrose Crossing (next to the former Honey Pig space), with a grand opening date to be announced soon.

Bao Bei launched in 2022 as a ghost kitchen, serving Taiwanese street food—ranging from fluffy baos to hearty bowls and small plates—primarily through delivery platforms. Chef Kevin Hsieh, a 2013 graduate of Gaithersburg High School, leads the concept with a mission to share authentic Taiwanese flavors rooted in tradition.

“Bao Bei, a term of endearment in Taiwanese, describes someone or something you treasure deeply,” said Chef Kevin Hsieh. “A tribute to my family, I will share my culture with the community through Bao Bei’s dishes.”
