TNA Wrestling, short for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, is a U.S.-based professional wrestling promotion founded in 2002 by Jeff Jarrett and his father Jerry Jarrett. The company operated as TNA Wrestling in its early years, rebranded to Impact Wrestling in 2017, and revived the TNA name in 2024. Known for showcasing a mix of established stars and emerging talent, it has introduced innovative match types such as the Ultimate X match. Wrestlers who first gained major fame in the promotion include AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels, while other notable names who have competed there include Hulk Hogan, Sting, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, and Ric Flair.
TNA currently has a working relationship with WWE and its NXT brand, with talent from each company appearing on the other’s television shows. At WrestleMania 41 in April, TNA star Joe Hendry faced WWE veteran Randy Orton.
Two of TNA’s top current stars have strong local ties. Quinn Ojinnaka, known as “Moose,” was born in Seabrook, Maryland, and attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, where he earned All-Prince George’s County honors as an offensive lineman during an 11–0 season that included a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship. He later played in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, St. Louis Rams, and Indianapolis Colts.
AJ Francis, formerly known as “Top Dolla” in WWE, was born in Washington, D.C., attended Gonzaga College High School, played football for the Maryland Terrapins, and went on to play for seven NFL teams, including the Washington Redskins and New York Giants.
