Montgomery County Native Jon Bernthal Visits Washington Commanders Training Camp, “It Feels So Good To Be a Commanders Fan”

Jon Bernthal, a Montgomery County, MD native and longtime Washington fan, visited Commanders training camp today. He told a group of reporters, “It feels so good, you know, to be a Commanders fan. It feels like it was back in the day” before reminiscing on the franchise’s three Super Bowl wins in the past (video below).

Bernthal has been a lifelong fan of the team and recently shared a selfie he snapped of himself with Redskins legend Dexter Manley while working out at Life Time on Seven Locks in Potomac/Rockville. Not only did he compliment the team’s recent success, he also shared admiration for who the players are off the field, “for me, as a father, just to see the quality of men these guys are and the role models that they can be to these kids…”

We recently shared the news of Montgomery County’s very own Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, in Sony and Marvel’s upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The actor grew up in the Cabin John area and graduated from Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., in 1995. He still has family in the area and is frequently spotted around Montgomery County at the mall, gym, grocery store, and other local spots, with readers often sending in selfies taken with him. This time, it was Bernthal who shared the selfie.
