MCPD is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in Fairland in which a teenage male was shot in the thigh while walking on a footpath, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 11:54 p.m. on Monday, August 11, Montgomery County Police – 3rd District officers were dispatched to the 13000 block of Chopin Court for the report of a shooting.
The preliminary information available at this time is that two teenage males were walking on a footpath, when a suspect approached, shot one of the males and left the area.
3rd District officers located the victim with a gunshot wound to the thigh. Officers applied a tourniquet and provided medical assistance until Fire Rescue arrived. He was transported to an area hospital alert and conscious with a non-life-threatening wound.
There is no suspect information available. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.”
