The Washington Commanders have made a move to bolster their receiving corps, signing veteran wide receiver River Cracraft and releasing 6’5 wide receiver Michael Strachan.
Cracraft, who has played pieces of the last three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, brings an additional layer of experience to the team. The move provides the Commanders with a proven player who has experience in the league, having also spent time with the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers. Strachan, meanwhile, was let go to make room for Cracraft on the roster. He previously played for the Colts and Panthers, but could not make enough of an impact to latch on in Washington.
While Cracraft may not be a household name, his presence adds a reliable option to the Commanders’ wide receiver group as they head into the preseason. And as many fans have already noted, his unique name is sure to become a fan favorite if he sticks with the team. Cracraft has 32 career receptions for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns.
