bartaco (Pike & Rose): Back in January we let you know that bartaco  signed on to open its first Maryland location at 11886 Grand Park Ave. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose. After little more than half a year later, there is some movement as construction prepares to begin and a hearing for the restaurant’s liquor license is scheduled for later in the month. More here.

California Fish Grill (Rockville): Last November, we reported that California Fish Grill, a chain with approximately 50 restaurants in California and Arizona, signed on for its first Maryland location at 12238 Rockville Pike in Rockville’s Towne Plaza. Marathon Deli (Kensington): Back in June 2023, we let you know that Marathon Deli signed on to open a new location at the upcoming Crossroads at Kensington shopping center on the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Plyers Mill Rd. The restaurant has received its permit to begin interior construction and could be ready to open later this year. More here.
