The City of Gaithersburg and Town of Kensington will each hold their Labor Day parades and celebrations on Monday, September 1st. Gaithersburg Police and Montgomery County Police have released road closures and traffic information associated with both events:
Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade:
🛑 ROAD CLOSURES (9:00 AM – approx. 4:00 PM):
East Diamond Avenue from Girard Street to Russell Avenue
Russell Avenue from East Diamond Avenue to Odend Hal Avenue🚗 PARKING & SHUTTLES:
Free parking available at Montgomery County Fairgrounds (501 Perry Parkway)
Complimentary shuttle service to Gaithersburg Elementary School runs 8:00 – 9:30 AM
Return service ends with the last bus at approx. 1:30 PM
Limited free parking is also available at the Olde Towne parking garage (Olde Towne & Summit Avenues)
Due to the Annual Labor Day Parade & Festival, multiple roads will be closed: 🕗 8am–12pm: Parade route closures 🕓 8am–4pm: Festival area closures Parade starts on Plyers Mill Rd, ends on Kensington Pkwy. Plan ahead & check the map!
