Each month, Eater DC releases its list of the best new restaurants to open in the DC Metro area and September’s edition features one Maryland restaurant, located right here in Montgomery County. Dok Khao recently opened at 8551 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase Lake (Chevy Chase, MD).
Dok Khao describes itself as offering “local Thai cuisine for everyone,” with dishes made to order using high-quality ingredients, including locally made fresh noodles, home-grown Thai herbs, and rare Asian vegetables. The menu features Thai street food, noodles, small plates, salads, hearty soups, craft cocktails, homemade cakes, and an Asian-inspired dessert bar, all designed to evoke the atmosphere of a Bangkok night market.
Dok Thai Thai Eatery opened its first location in Woodbridge, VA, followed by a second in the Merriweather District in Downtown Columbia. Eater writes, “The chic new dining room decked out with greenery and a bubbling fountain opens with a must-try matcha Thai tea and dishes like lychee duck curry, crab Rangoon, dumplings, and drunken noodles, with lychee cheesecake and mango sticky rice for dessert.”
