11 Fun Facts About The Commanders Big Win Against the Chargers

The Washington Commanders went to Los Angeles and defeated the Chargers 27-10, scoring 27 unanswered points. The team is now 3-2 heading into a big game at home against the Chicago Bears on Monday night football. Below, you’ll see 11 fun facts about today’s big win:

• OLB Von Miller now has 17.5 career sacks against the Chargers. It is the most among any player in NFL history against the Chargers. It is the most sacks against any individual opponent that Miller has in his career.

• S Quan Martin forced his fourth career fumble.

• The fumble was recovered by CB Marshon Lattimore. Lattimore has six career fumble recoveries and it is his first since 2021.

• WR Deebo Samuel Sr. has joined Bobby Mitchell and Charley Taylor as the only players with at least 5,000-plus receiving yards and 1,000-plus rushing yards in their first seven career seasons in NFL history. He accomplished the feat in 86 games, which is the second fewest behind Taylor who hit the mark after 81 games.

• Samuel Sr. is the 13th player in NFL history to hit both marks above during their career and the first since RB Tiki Barber in 2006. Samuel Sr. also becomes the first wide receiver in NFL history to achieve the feat.

• RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed for his third and fourth career touchdown. Croskey-Merritt currently leads all rookie offensive players in rushing touchdowns.

• WR Luke McCaffrey’s 50-yard reception is the longest of his career.

• RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt is the first Washington rookie to record multiple rushing touchdowns in a single game since QB Jayden Daniels in Week 1 of the 2024 season. He’s the first rookie running back to do so since RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. recorded two rushing touchdowns in Week 16 of the 2023 season.

• RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt joins Darrell Young (3 in 2013), John Riggins (2 in 1983) and George Rogers (2 in 1986) as the only Washington players to ever record multiple rushing touchdowns in a single game against the Chargers.

• DE Dorance Armstrong has recorded his first two-sack game since Week 1 of the 2023 season and first multi-sack game since Week 4 of the 2024 season.

• QB Jayden Daniels has surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards in 20 career games. He is the first quarterback to rush for 1,000 plus career rushing yards in 20 games or less in NFL history.
