Washington Wizards Announce 2025–26 Opening Night Roster Ahead of Season Opener in Milwaukee

The Washington Wizards have announced their 2025-26 opening night roster as the team prepares to begin the season on Wednesday, October 22, on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks. The roster stands at 18 players, including three two-way contracts.

Led by Head Coach Brian Keefe, the Wizards’ lineup features a mix of young talent, veteran leadership, and international representation. The team continues to focus on development while building around its emerging core of recent draft picks and rising stars.

The roster includes Marvin Bagley III, Malaki Branham, Bub Carrington, Justin Champagnie, Sharife Cooper, Bilal Coulibaly, Kyshawn George, Anthony Gill, AJ Johnson, Tre Johnson, Corey Kispert, CJ McCollum, Khris Middleton, Will Riley, Alex Sarr, Tristan Vukcevic, Jamir Watkins, and Cam Whitmore.

Among them, Sharife Cooper, Tristan Vukcevic, and Jamir Watkins will serve as the team’s three two-way players. Veterans CJ McCollum (entering his 13th season) and Khris Middleton (14th season) bring veteran leadership to a roster otherwise defined by youth.

The Wizards’ frontcourt features Bagley, Gill, Middleton, Sarr, George, and Vukcevic, while the backcourt and wing positions are loaded with promising young talent including Coulibaly, Whitmore, Branham, and both Johnsons (AJ and Tre). Rookie first-round picks Tre Johnson (Texas) and Will Riley (Illinois/Canada) will make their NBA debuts, while international prospects like Coulibaly (France), Sarr (France), and Vukcevic (Serbia) reflect the team’s growing global reach.

Washington enters the season as one of the NBA’s youngest squads, with several players under the age of 22. The organization hopes the 2025-26 campaign will mark the next step in its rebuild, blending the energy of its youth movement with the stability provided by experienced veterans.

Tip-off against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night will mark the start of a new chapter for the franchise as the Wizards aim to develop their young core and re-establish their identity in the Eastern Conference.
