The stage is set for the 2025 Montgomery County Volleyball Championship as the top-seeded Wootton Patriots (13-1) take on the Richard Montgomery Rockets (12-2) on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Quince Orchard High School.
Wootton enters the final riding an impressive season, boasting just one loss and showcasing strong consistency across all positions. The Patriots have been dominant throughout the regular season with their disciplined play, powerful offense, and deep roster depth.
Richard Montgomery earned their spot in the championship after a dramatic finish to the regular season. The Rockets were part of a three-way tie for second place along with Quince Orchard Cougars and Sherwood Warriors, and advanced after winning a three-way coin toss to claim the second seed. The Rockets also secured a pivotal win against Sherwood in their final regular-season match, which allowed them to enter that tie.
Both programs, however, know what it’s like to face elite competition beyond county lines. Wootton’s lone loss came to out-of-county powerhouse Urbana Hawks. Meanwhile, Richard Montgomery also fell to Urbana earlier in the season, and in their head-to-head county matchup, Richard Montgomery dropped a tight four-set affair to Wootton.
