Update: The owner of Gyroland says no final decision has been made yet on the restaurant’s future. We were previously told by an employee that it would close by the end of the year after hearing from several readers that they were told the same. We’ll keep following this story. Original report below:
Gyroland, the popular Greek fast-casual restaurant located at 1701 Rockville Pike in Rockville’s Shops at Congressional Village shopping center, plans to close by this winter, according to a restaurant representative.
The representative tells us that ownership intends to search for a potential new location in the coming year, signaling that this may not be the end for the Gyroland brand in Montgomery County. Opened in 2017, Gyroland has been known for its quick-service take on traditional Greek dishes, including gyros, souvlaki, and more.
The restaurant has built a loyal following for its fresh ingredients and casual atmosphere, serving as a more relaxed counterpart to its sister restaurants, Mykonos Grill in Rockville and the newly opened Mykonos Restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village. Both of these other restaurants will not be affected by Gyroland’s upcoming closure. No exact closing date has been announced for Gyroland.
