Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday evening in Fairland.
Police have identified the victim as 54-year-old Sarahi Concepcion Aragon-Cruz, of Fairland. According to authorities, officers responded to the 3000 block of Memory Lane at approximately 5:41 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene, they found Aragon-Cruz inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe that a male suspect known to the victim shot Aragon-Cruz during an argument inside the home before fleeing the scene. Her body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
Detectives are actively searching for the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing. Additional information about the suspect has not been provided.
