Royal Durbar Kitchen is marking its official grand opening week in Rockville (1321 Rockville Pike) with a multi-day celebration tied to Prithivi Jayanti, offering discounts and special promotions for diners. The restaurant opened for business this past fall.
The restaurant’s grand opening week runs from January 11 through January 17, 2026, at its Rockville Pike location. As part of the celebration, Royal Durbar Kitchen is offering 30 percent off dine-in food orders throughout the week. The discount applies to food only, and priority seating will be given to guests with reservations.
The grand opening coincides with Prithivi Jayanti, a significant Nepali holiday that honors Prithvi Narayan Shah, the founder of modern Nepal. The restaurant says the weeklong celebration is meant to highlight Nepali culture, tradition, and cuisine while welcoming the community into its space.
Royal Durbar Kitchen opened in September at 1321 Rockville Pike, in the Woodmont Station shopping center, taking over the space most recently occupied by Damso Korean BBQ and previously home to Saffron Indian Cuisine. They serve a menu focused on authentic Nepali dishes, including momos, curries, and a variety of spice-forward entrees inspired by traditional recipes.
The restaurant is currently open daily from 11:30am to 9pm. Reservations are encouraged during grand opening week due to the expected demand. More information is available through the restaurant directly.
