A house fire Saturday afternoon caused damage to a Rockville home and displaced two residents, though no injuries were reported.
According to MCFRS Assistant Chief David Pazos, crews were dispatched around 3:52pm to the 4800 block of Tallahassee Avenue for a reported house fire. Firefighters located a garage fire that had extended into the home, including the first and second floors of the two-story single-family residence.
Two adults and one dog were able to escape the home uninjured. Fire crews continued working at the scene to fully extinguish the fire. The residents have been displaced and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
