Montgomery County’s only two-story McDonald’s is set to receive a notable upgrade focused on improving the drive-thru experience.
According to Robert Dyer, “plans call for doubling the size of the existing drive-thru, with the addition of more menu boards, new canopies, and upgraded ordering microphones.” The changes are designed to streamline ordering, reduce wait times, and better accommodate customer demand, particularly during peak hours.
Located in Glenmont, the restaurant already holds a unique place in local history. It was Montgomery County’s second McDonald’s, opening in the early 1960s, just a few years after the county’s first location debuted in Rockville.
