Students in the Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades Foundation and Information Technology Foundation will host a public sale of refurbished used cars and computers from 9am to 11am on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Damascus High School, located at 25921 Ridge Road in Damascus.
The vehicles and computers available for purchase have been refurbished and reconditioned by students as part of their classroom and lab coursework. The sale allows students to apply technical and customer service skills in a real-world setting while earning Student Service Learning hours and gaining hands-on experience in community engagement.
The Automotive Trades Foundation operates as a licensed, student-run used car dealership, providing students with experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair, sales, and customer service. The program was established in 1978 through partnerships with local industry and blends classroom instruction with extensive shop work. Many seniors also spend two days each week working at area dealerships, where they gain additional training and begin building early employment connections.
Students in the Information Technology Foundation program contribute by refurbishing computers that will also be available for purchase during the sale. Both programs are designed to give students practical workforce experience while offering the community an opportunity to support career and technical education through the purchase of affordable vehicles and equipment. Inventory details will be posted closer to the sale date.
