Dirty Sodas Arrive in Damascus With a New Menu at That Smoothie Place

That Smoothie Place, located at 9815 Main St. Ste 106 in Damascus, has launched a new menu item tapping into one of the fastest-growing drink trends right now… dirty sodas. Our very own “Mr. MoCo” Alex Tsironis stopped by to support and shared the experience in the video below.

The shop’s new “Dirty Soda Drop” features nine different non-alcoholic mixed soda options. Dirty sodas are typically made by combining fountain soda with flavored syrups, cream, and sometimes fruit flavors, creating a dessert-like drink without alcohol. Each dirty soda at That Smoothie Place is served in a 24oz cup for $5.95 and can be made with either regular soda or zero-sugar soda bases.

The current lineup includes flavors like Coco Cabana, made with Coca-Cola, coconut, vanilla, and coconut cream drizzle, and Cherry Bomb, which blends Coca-Cola with vanilla, cherry, and a cream finish. Sprite-based options include Ultra Violet with coconut and lavender, Arcade Fuel with green apple and vanilla, Purple Haze featuring strawberry, blue raspberry, and marshmallow drizzle, and Strawberry Skies topped with strawberry drizzle. Dr Pepper fans can choose from Caramel Blitz, Dr. Mash with toasted marshmallow, or Sweet Circuit with strawberry and vanilla. All drinks finish with a creamy topping.

The idea came together naturally after the shop realized it already had a wide variety of syrups used for its specialty lemonades and wanted to introduce something new. Being in a small town, the goal was also to attract visitors from surrounding areas and give people another reason to make the trip into Damascus.

If the dirty sodas continue to gain traction, the owners say they would like to expand the concept further by adding sugar-free syrups, dairy-free cream options, and eventually a build-your-own dirty soda menu.

That Smoothie Place originally began as a small smoothie truck built around a larger mission of inclusivity and community. The business has grown with a focus on employing individuals with special needs and creating a welcoming, supportive environment for both employees and customers. Smoothies at the shop are fruit-based, made without milk or nut products, and designed to be accessible to as many people as possible.

The addition of dirty sodas gives customers another way to support a local business rooted in service, acceptance, and community building, one sip at a time.
