Members of the community are rallying to support the family of a Clarksburg man who died following a crash early Sunday morning. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been started to raise funds to cover funeral expenses.
Friends and supporters are asking the public to help raise funds for the family of 39-year-old Jorge Estuardo Moran Hernandez, who was killed in a collision on March 15. A message circulating in Spanish on social media asks people to share the information and contribute to help cover funeral and burial expenses for his family.
The message explains that Moran Hernandez leaves behind his wife, Xiomara Ulloa, and their four children. Supporters say the family needs help during this difficult time and are encouraging the community to come together to assist with the costs associated with laying him to rest.
According to Montgomery County Police, the collision occurred at approximately 1:27am on Sunday at the intersection of Woodfield Road and Glendalough Road. Investigators say Moran Hernandez was driving a black 2012 Ford F150 northbound on Woodfield Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck struck a black 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling southbound.
Following the collision, the Ford crashed into an embankment, rolled over, and struck a guardrail. Police say Moran Hernandez was partially ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. The adult female driver of the Jeep was transported to an area hospital with critical but stable injuries.
The Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the crash, a process officials say may take several weeks to months to complete. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
In the meantime, members of the community are hoping to ease some of the burden on Moran Hernandez’s family by helping them cover funeral expenses and offering support during an incredibly difficult time.
