MCFRS Unveils New Command Vehicles for Five Battalions

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service is rolling out a new fleet of command vehicles designed to strengthen incident command operations across the county.

The new vehicles will serve MCFRS’s five battalions, which provide incident command coverage across more than 500 square miles and help protect more than one million residents and visitors each day.

According to MCFRS, the upgraded command units feature improved technology, stronger communications capabilities, and modern designs intended to support faster decision-making on emergency scenes.

Strong incident command plays a critical role in safety, coordination, and overall emergency response outcomes, whether crews are managing a structure fire, rescue operation, severe weather event, or another large-scale incident.

MCFRS said the project reflects its ongoing commitment to equipping personnel with the tools they need to keep the community safe and provide the highest level of service possible. Officials added that the new vehicles will enhance how the department supports firefighters in the field and the residents they serve.

The department also thanked everyone involved in planning, designing, and delivering the upgraded command fleet, saying the effort directly strengthens MCFRS’s ability to protect Montgomery County.
