MCPD Recaps Weekend Incidents Including Fatal Crash, Thefts, and Shooting

Montgomery County Police shared a recap of reported calls for service across the county from March 20-22, 2026, highlighting a range of incidents including a fatal collision, multiple auto thefts, burglaries, and a shooting.

A single-vehicle crash early March 22 at Norbeck Road and East Gude Drive resulted in the deaths of two adult men, with a third person seriously injured. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

Auto thefts made up a significant portion of the reported incidents, many occurring overnight and in parking lots or residential areas. In one case, a rental car was stolen after being left running. Another stolen vehicle was later recovered burned in Howard County.

Police also reported an attempted armed robbery and carjacking in a parking garage on Trade Street, where the suspect fled after being confronted. Officers later identified and located the suspect.

Several burglaries were reported, including an attempted break-in at a business on Wisteria Drive and a residential burglary at a vacant home on Warrior Brook Drive. Another case resulted in an arrest after a suspect was found inside a vacant apartment on Rollins Avenue.

Additional incidents included a shooting inside a business on Leaman Farm Road, where the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and a vandalism case tied to a known social media trend, where juveniles damaged a home’s front door in Clarks Crossing Drive.
