Montgomery County Police shared a summary of reported incidents from March 23, 2026, highlighting multiple auto thefts, a commercial burglary, and several robberies across different districts.
A commercial burglary was reported in the 2nd District (Bethesda area) between March 21 and March 23, where copper wiring was stolen from multiple townhomes under construction in the 10800 block of Academy Park Drive and 10700 block of Stillwater Avenue.
In the 3rd District (Silver Spring area), several auto thefts were reported. One incident on the 11400 block of Stewart Lane resulted in two arrests after a suspect used a key taken from one vehicle to steal another. The stolen vehicle was later recovered. Additional thefts occurred in a parking garage on the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive, along Caplinger Road and Eden Road, and at a county garage in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue.
Another auto theft was reported in the 4th District (Wheaton area) in the 4700 block of Iris Place, where a suspect was captured on video entering and driving off in a vehicle parked on the street.
Police also reported a robbery involving a firearm in the 4th District near Connecticut Avenue and Peppertree Lane. A group of juvenile victims were robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint in a park. Park Police are handling that investigation.
In the 6th District (Gaithersburg area), an armed robbery occurred around 12:30pm near Grand Corner Avenue. Two juvenile suspects approached a victim near a shopping center, displayed a handgun, and demanded headphones before fleeing the scene.
