Montgomery County police reported a series of incidents across multiple districts on March 25, including a strong-arm robbery, a stabbing involving a juvenile, multiple auto thefts, and a weapon discharge.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac, North Potomac, Darnestown, and parts of Derwood, officers responded to a strong-arm robbery early in the morning in the 800 block of Baltimore Road. Between approximately 6:50am and 7:15am, three suspects approached a victim waiting outside a store, forcibly took cash and a necklace, and assaulted him before a bystander intervened.
Later that evening, also in the 1st District, a juvenile was stabbed multiple times during an altercation in the 400 block of Redland Boulevard between 8:33pm and 9pm. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One suspect was taken into custody nearby, and a second suspect has possibly been identified.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Bethesda, and parts of Potomac and Silver Spring, officers responded to a hate or bias vandalism incident around 9:40am in the 8200 block of Wisconsin Avenue, where hate symbols were painted on the exterior of a building.
The 3rd District, covering Silver Spring, Burtonsville, Briggs Chaney, Fairland, and Cloverly, reported an auto theft in the 9200 block of Three Oaks Drive. The vehicle was taken sometime between 8:30pm on March 24 and 11am on March 25.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Kensington, and Glenmont, two dirt bikes were stolen around 7:32pm in the 4500 block of Grenoble Court.
A bias-related incident was also reported in the 5th District, which covers Germantown, Clarksburg, and Damascus. Around 5:32pm, an incident involving a student and staff member was reported at Hallie Wells Middle School on Little Seneca Parkway. The incident remains under review.
In the 6th District, covering Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and surrounding areas, officers reported multiple incidents. A vehicle was stolen from a parking garage in the 100 block of Ellington Boulevard between 1:30pm and 6:15pm. Later that night, at approximately 9:57pm, three suspects were arrested in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road after being found removing copper from a demolition site. All three were charged.
Shortly after, at around 10:50pm, officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 11400 block of Game Preserve Road. Multiple shell casings were located in the roadway after a resident reported hearing gunshots and seeing a vehicle fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. No injuries or property damage were reported.
