Firefighters Battle Large Brush Fire at FDA White Oak Campus

Firefighters battled a large brush fire on the FDA White Oak Campus today. The fire, reported around two hours ago, was located in the area of Cherry Hill Road and FDA Boulevard, within Box Area 1529. Officials estimated that approximately 10 to 12 acres were involved at the height of the incident.

According to MCFRS, crews worked to contain the fire along a fire road and prevent it from spreading further. Multiple units operated on scene, prioritizing firefighter safety and the protection of nearby structures.

Residents and those in the surrounding area were advised to avoid the scene to allow emergency vehicles clear access. Due to smoke conditions, people nearby were encouraged to keep windows closed. Authorities also reminded the public to call 911 if they observe additional smoke or fire and not assume it has already been reported.
