Montgomery County police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in Silver Spring.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, officers from the 3rd District responded around 2:04am to the area of Georgia Avenue and Thayer Avenue for reports of a shooting.
Preliminary findings indicate that a group of unknown suspects became involved in an argument with a 25-year-old man. During the altercation, the suspects shot the victim for reasons that remain under investigation.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle and is expected to survive, with injuries described as non-life-threatening. As of now, no arrests have been made and police have not released any suspect descriptions.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
