Montgomery County Police released a summary of reported calls for service from Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5, highlighting a range of incidents across the county including multiple auto thefts, burglaries, assaults, and an arson at a school.
Several thefts from autos and stolen vehicles were reported across multiple districts, including incidents in King Farm in Rockville (1st District – Rockville, Gaithersburg), Northampton Drive and Gateshead Manor Way in Silver Spring (3rd District – Silver Spring), Perrywood Drive in Gaithersburg (3rd District – Silver Spring), Colgate Way in Germantown and Germantown Square Shopping Center (5th District – Germantown), and Beacon Road in Montgomery Village (6th District – Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg North). In one case, all four tires were removed from a rental vehicle and the car was left on bricks.
Residential burglaries were reported on Starlight Court in Rockville (1st District – Rockville, Gaithersburg), Montrose Road in North Bethesda (1st District – Rockville, Gaithersburg), and Venetia Mill Circle in Silver Spring (3rd District – Silver Spring), with suspects forcing entry and stealing items or attempting to break in.
An arson incident was reported at Bradley Hills Elementary School in Bethesda (2nd District – Bethesda, Chevy Chase), where suspects broke into an outdoor equipment shed and set it on fire.
Multiple assaults were also reported, including a knife-related attempted robbery on Middlebrook Road in Germantown (5th District – Germantown) where a bystander was cut while intervening, and a group assault outside a restaurant on Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg (6th District – Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg North). Another incident in Silver Spring (3rd District – Silver Spring) involved a suspect threatening a victim and a child with a knife on New Hampshire Avenue.
A non-contact shooting near a playground on Elm Shade Court in Germantown (5th District – Germantown) resulted in a vehicle being struck by a bullet, and a separate shooting on Armory Avenue in Rockville (2nd District – Bethesda, Chevy Chase) left two victims with gunshot wounds.
Other incidents included a strong-arm robbery involving a juvenile victim on Main Street in Gaithersburg (6th District – Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg North) and a weapons offense arrest on South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg (6th District – Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg North) after officers recovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.
