Montgomery County Police shared a summary of reported incidents from April 6, 2026, highlighting several robberies, assaults, thefts, and a vandalism case across multiple districts.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville and surrounding areas, a strong-arm robbery was reported between 8:50am and 9am near Research Boulevard and West Gude Drive. Police say a suspect approached a victim from behind, demanded her phone, and then grabbed it from her hand before fleeing on foot.
Also in the 1st District, a residential burglary occurred between 9pm on April 5 and 12:18pm on April 6 in the 100 block of Fleet Street. According to police, a suspect forced their way into a residence after a victim opened the door, entered without permission, and then left.
In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda and Chevy Chase, a vandalism incident tied to Purple Line construction was reported between noon on April 5 and 4am on April 6 in the 7200 block of Wisconsin Avenue. A suspect dumped a container of oil into a construction shaft, causing damage to the site.
Another 2nd District incident involved the theft of a motorcycle between 10pm on April 5 and 9am on April 6 in the 8500 block of Leonard Drive. Later that evening, at 9:49pm, a moped was also stolen from a parking lot in the 1700 block of East West Highway.
In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, a robbery involving a knife was reported at 9:03pm near Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street. Police say a victim was surrounded and assaulted by a group at a bus stop, and one suspect stole the victim’s handbag at knifepoint. Several suspects were detained nearby.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton and Glenmont, an aggravated assault involving a knife occurred at 3:15pm in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Road. Police say a suspect attempted to stab a store employee after being confronted about trespassing. Bystanders intervened before the suspect fled.
Another aggravated assault was reported in the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, at 1:04am in the 100 block of Lake Street, where a suspect allegedly struck a victim multiple times in the head with a metal pole during an argument.
